| JOY GARNETT, Debs & Company, (through June 5th) Ms. Garnett's colorful and luminous near-ab- stract paintings, based on photographs of nu- clear bomb tests in the 1950's, are said to be inspired by 19th-century Hudson River School and Luminist landscape painting; they look closer in style to the works of Gerhard Richter and might be interesting blown up to Color Field scale (Ken Johnson). |
